Esther Contreras provides legal counsel to businesses on all aspects of U.S. immigration law. She has extensive experience working with multinational and US companies of all sizes and in a wide range of industries. Her practice encompasses the entire scope of employment-based immigration matters, from worksite enforcement (Form I-9, E-Verify, etc.), nonimmigrant visas to permanent residence processes.
Before joining Mehlman Jacobs, Esther served as a principal and vice-chair of a mid-sized law firm’s immigration group. Her clients primarily included IT consulting companies and multinational corporations and foreign investors from Japan, Latin America and Europe.
Esther earned a B.A. from Northwestern University and a J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law. She is an active member of the State Bar of Illinois and the American Immigration Lawyers’ Association. She has been recognized by Leading Lawyers, Super Lawyers and U.S. News & World Report.
